Are you bored of being ill?

Technically I've been ill for like 4 months...with some maximum 1-week-long breaks. I'm not kidding. In the past few months, i had mononucleosis and it totally destroyed my immune system, so if i spend my time with many peolpe around me, or i don't sleep enough and so on, i definitely catch a disease. I do. After mono i already had (its gonna be in Hungarian, i have no idea what are these illnesses in English) arcüreg gyulladás, nyirokcsomó gyulladás, tüdőgyulladás, hörghurut, mellgyulladás, nátha... I have to see my doctor once a week, i have to get blood tests, i can't live without antibiotics but the worst thing is that i can't leave the house. I feel like a drug addict on rehab, i need my friends, i need concerts, i need having fun, i need walking on the beautiful streets of Budapest!!
I was SO depressed in the first month, i was only thinking about what i could do if i wouldn't be ill. Then i realised that i'm just wasting my time. Let's make the best out of it!

So here are some ideas how to pass your time when you are ill:

~ Watch great movies!

During the past months i have watched maaaaany movies and tv shows. How I Met Your Mother (legendary!), The Bucket List (loved this one so much), Man On Fire (awesome, one of my favorites), Skins (i did not become a huge fan), Made of Honor (one of the best romantic movies ever!), Twilight - Eclipse (it was so bad, i couldn't finish it), Harry Potter 7 1/2 (nope, still the 3rd is the best), Narnia 3 (great one!), Salt (exciting), The Tourist (Johnny Depp is AMAZING as always, Angelina not really), Die Hard 1-2-3-4 (1-2 is classic and so exciting, 3-4 failed), Hangover (funniest ever, have seen it many times), Due Date (there were some hilarious parts but not the best), Butterfly Effect (all-time-favorite), Inception (love this film), Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr is HOT, great movie), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (one of the worst movies i have ever seen...), Mean Girls (all-time-favorite chick flick, i know it by heart) and right now i am OBSESSED with Gossip Girl. I started to watch it 3 days ago, and now i'm at s2e10.
So yeah, one movie per day. Now you have time to watch the movies you have been wanted to but didn't have enough time before.

~ Write a bucket list!

That's what i did first, and i got so inspired!!! I have many plans, i want to do and experience many things before i die. Dream big, don't be afraid to write down extreme ideas! I'll share mine soon;)
Think about people you would like to meet, places you want to see, courses you want to take, dreams, aims, plans... And start to take the first steps to achieve them.

~ Create something!

Take photos. Create a blog. Design something. Paint. Draw. There are so many things you can do! There is no better feeling when you look at something you created with care, passion, and focusing...Believe me.

For example i started to design and make canvas bags and necklaces. I enjoy it SO MUCH! I can spend hours doing these things not realising what time it is and after i finish one and i look at it...i am inspired to make more.Creating things is amazing.

This is the first bag i made. It says "live life loud".

~ Cook something!

Well i guess it is creating too...Anyways here is my favorite cookie recipe, it is really easy to make and it's low fat! I always make this when i am bored or i want to eat something delicious;) It's in Hungarian but if anyone wants to get it, i can translate. Yumm!

~ Catch up with your friends!

There is no better time to write emails or facebook messages to those you haven't talked with for a long time. Stay connected with your friends! I like getting long emails, i think almost everyone does, so take the first step and take some time writing messages.

~ Help someone!

I could never imagine that helping my mom makes me feel better but it did! I wasn't focusing on my disastrous phisical and spiritual being, but on others, on those who i love and suddenly i realised that i am not miserable at all. Try it:)

~ Read!

I'd suggest reading the Bible because it always helps (ok right now i could say million other reasons why should everyone read it), but if you are not in that mood, just read anything that you like. I also love crime stories. Agatha Christie is amazing, if i start reading one of her books, i just can't put it down until i finish. I like girly books as well, one of my favorites is The Chocolate Lovers' Club by Carole Matthews.
Read and get away for a while from real life. Everyone needs to rest sometime.

That's all for now. Try to enjoy being ill and staying in the house (i know the best that it's hard), just don't waste your time!!! Every second counts.

Kris Allen rocks - and the song as well, written by The Script.

xoxo Lydia
